Consistency & Setting Time

Vicat Needle Apparatus With Dashpot

Consistency and Setting Time

Consistency and setting time define the workability and hardening behavior of cement. These properties are essential for ensuring proper mixing, placing, and finishing in construction applications.

Vicat Apparatus

HT-605

Reference Standards: IS: 5513, IS: 4031, ASTM C187

The Vicat Apparatus is used to determine standard consistency, initial setting time, and final setting time of cement. It measures penetration of a plunger or needle into cement paste under controlled conditions.
